For body measurements, keep the tape level and snug but not tight. Measure the waist at its narrowest point after breathing out normally, and the hips at the fullest point.
Every tape here reads in inches and centimeters, so one tape covers US and European patterns. The fiberglass tapes don't stretch with daily use.
Roll tapes loosely and keep them away from heat. A sharp fold or a hot iron can kink or warp a tape for good.

Can I measure myself without help?
Yes, with the retractable body tape. Wrap it around, hook the end into the slot on the case, pull it snug, and the lock holds the reading.
Do the tapes stretch?
The fiberglass-reinforced tapes don't, even with daily use, so they stay accurate.
Which tape is best for measuring yardage?
The 120" (300 cm) tailor's tape or the 300 cm tape. Each measures over 3 yards in one pass.
