The 3/8" lace edges a neckline, a cuff or a pocket. The 1¾" lace finishes the hem of a christening gown, a little girl's dress, a pillowcase or table linens.
From Our Workroom
Wash the lace once before you sew it to a garment you plan to wash, so any shrinking happens first. Press it face down on a towel on low heat, so the openwork keeps its texture.
To edge a hem, overlap the lace on the finished hem, pin it, and stitch along it with a narrow zigzag. Use a 70/10 or 80/12 needle and our polyester thread.
