From Our Workroom
Prewash cotton knits before you cut, the same way you'll wash the finished piece. Cotton can shrink slightly in the first wash.
Lay the fabric flat to cut and don't let it hang off the table, or it stretches out of shape. Use a ballpoint or jersey needle, 75/11 or 80/12 on jersey and 90/14 on French terry, with a narrow zigzag, a stretch stitch or a serger. Single jersey curls at the cut edges, which is normal for this knit.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between 2-end and 3-end French terry?
3-end French terry is knit with three yarns instead of two, so it's heavier (330 to 350 GSM here, against 260 GSM) and warmer. The brushed one also has a soft fleece back.
How do I wash these knits?
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, don't bleach, and iron on low.
How are knits sold?
By the yard. Multiple yards are cut as one continuous piece.
